About Us

The Waxed Cotton Workshop was formed over 10 years ago in response to the lack of options available for the cleaning, repair and reproofing of the waxed cotton products currently out there in the market place.

With some companies indicating 6-8 weeks for a simple clean and reproof, it seemed ludicrous to us and so we decided to address this and set up our own premium service shop.

With a life long love of motorcycle touring and outdoor sports , our own outdoor equipment required frequent attention so this naturally sparked an interest with our friends and we soon ended up with a substantial loyal customer base of likeminded individuals organically, all without an online presence.

We are considered and consider ourselves to be the premium waxed outerwear repair and restorers. 

We offer a service unsurpassed in our field and also recognise the need for quality & VALUE and feel these are not mutually exclusive. All of our work and repairs are guaranteed and our team treats every garment to pass through the workshop as if it were their own.

We hold some exciting and exclusive partnerships, which is testament to the quality of our service [as well as the loyalty of our customers no less] and support many outdoor, shooting, fishing and motorcycle communities across the UK and beyond.

As we progress further still [retaining our core business of reproofing and repairs of course], we decided it was time to open a retail space and atelier to pursue the ultimate goal of designing, manufacturing and retailing our own outerwear proudly wearing the ”Made in Scotland” badge.

The Waxed Cotton Workshop team is made up of Douglas and Jo. 

Douglas is the original  founder and the specialist technician who carries out the work on all the waxed clothing. 

Jo is our co-founder,   who ensures the business runs like clockwork whilst focusing on the development of our future products.
